Web Design

The cost of your web project is dependent on the following factors:

  • The amount of information you provide us, and what we will have to produce ourselves (e.g. writing copy, custom graphics)
  • Whether or not you will require a Content Management System that you can update yourself
  • The front-end attributes of the site and any extras (e.g. photo gallery, contact form, search bar, responsive design, search engine optimisation)
  • Last but not least, your budget! Let us know how much you are able to spend, and we will work within these limits to provide you with a beautiful custom site.

That really depends on you, the client, and what you need from your site. The average site takes up to a month or six weeks from concept to launch.

We accept cheque or direct bank transfer. Consultations are free. Your downpayment of 50% is only paid upon signing of the contract to employ Fortunink.

First, you should specify the type of website you will need from the onset of the project. This will affect how updates are handled.

If frequent updates will be needed, it is advisable to choose the Content Management System (CMS) option. If your site is built on a CMS, you will be able to make minor updates yourself. Instructions on how to manage your site will be provided when the project is finalised and handed over to you.

If your site is NOT built on a CMS (i.e. it uses only html/css), the files can be provided for you to update if you are comfortable editing html and css formats. If you do not use a CMS, it is most likely you will require web development assistance for updates. Even if you use a CMS, some clients may not be comfortable making these edits and may prefer to be assisted.

Most packages include web updates for a period of time after launch. Beyond this period, website updates and minor changes are offered at a package price that will be agreed upon prior to signing of the contract. This ranges from TT$250-$1000 a month (based on the type of updates to be expected for the particular type of site). If you have no need for updates for several months, you pay nothing. Only when you require updates, a flat rate will be due.

A minor update can relate to images or text, adding or deleting a page that is similar to other pages, or adding a small detail to information that already exists.

For instance, adding a photo to an already existing gallery is a minor change, but incorporating an entire photo gallery into the website is not a small change.

Anything beyond the scope of reasonable updates will incur a higher cost for redesigning, which will be negotiated upon request.

It is virtually impossible to build for every browser (many have tried and failed!). The reality is that some users will use outdated browsers, or use browsers that are not popular and thus not as widely supported, or access it from their various kinds of mobile phones.

At Fortunink, we do our best to ensure cross-browser functionality for your end users. During development, we test in the top five (5) most popular browsers — Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari, Opera, and the bane of every designer’s existence: Internet Explorer.

Before launching your site, we employ a multi-browser viewer software to load the site in up to 30 browsers. We also regularly check your website statistics to see where your users are located and which browsers and devices they are using, so that we will be able to feed this knowledge into any updates on the site.

You will have to specify this from the onset, so that the framework for your website will be a responsive design. Kindly note that some devices may still experience issues, which can be due to the device’s manufacturing build or operating system.

Of course. This is a specific type of website geared to showcase a person’s academic and professional accomplishments, skills and other personal information at quick glance for an employer. The range of complexity varies drastically — a résumé website can be anything from a one-page document in html, to a full portfolio of work.

A simple one-pager can be produced for a much cheaper cost than a full website, so please specify your requirements from the onset of engaging Fortunink.

Magazine Design

The cost of your magazine project is dependent on the following factors:

  • The amount of information you provide us, and what we will have to produce ourselves e.g. writing copy, or custom graphics. If you wish to use stock imagery, this will incur additional costs.
  • Your budget! Let us know how much you are able to spend, and we will work within these limits to provide you with a beautiful magazine.

That really depends on you, the client, and what you need from your magazine. Custom graphics will obviously require longer lead time, as will sourcing of stock imagery.

We accept cheque or direct bank transfer. Consultations are free. Your downpayment of 50% is only paid upon signing of the contract to employ Fortunink.

If you have a project that you expect to be producing on a regular basis, please advise from the onset as we can negotiate an acceptable package deal for several issues.

If, however, you only realise you need another similar project after the original project is approved and closed, we can use existing templates which will reduce the overall cost of the new project. Minor changes can be costed on an itemised page basis (e.g. changing images on a page), or an entire project (e.g. a subsequent 20-page issue of an existing magazine) may need to be negotiated.

We do take into consideration repeat work, and this will be factored in to reduce the final cost.

No, we do not do printing. We can take on the responsibility of liaising with the printer; however this will be at an additional cost to the client. It is best if you contact your desired printer services provider for exact specifications, convey these to us, and we will send you the files that meet your requirements. Then, you can work directly with your printer of choice and arrange the pick-up of documents.

These specifications may include:

  • Dimensions of document (e.g. inches, centimetres, pixels, dots per inch (DPI), and bleed/margins if applicable)
  • Colour profile (e.g. CMYK)
  • Paper size (e.g. legal, letter, A4)
  • Adobe formats (e.g. versions of Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign)

We do have relationships with photographers, and can provide this service for you. Our Fortunink designers will do editing of the raw images for the final product. Original photography will of course incur an additional cost.

Yes, of course. We can format the magazine to your needs and optimise to ensure the size is at the lowest while maintaining a high quality, so that the file can be sent electronically to your audience.

Yes. If all you really need is a PDF or Adobe Flash version that can be opened online, these can be provided by Fortunink and uploaded to your website. This will be at no additional cost to the client.

If you want an entire online magazine using a separate digital publishing platform, such as WellnessConnect (see example at http://magazine.ttwellnessconnect.com), this can also be done but will incur an additional cost.

Writing & Editing

The rate for writing and editing services must be discussed directly as it relates to the project at hand. The cost will be dependent on the factors below:

  • The type of document (subject area and expertise required)
  • The length of the document (word count)
  • The specific task expected
  • The time frame for completion

The turnover for proofreading services is usually 1-3 calendar days depending on the length of the document. Please allow 5-7 calendar days turnaround time for projects exceeding 30,000 words. Writing services may take around 1-10 calendar days depending on the length of the document.

Some large writing projects (for example, over 15,000 words) may take up to one month or longer depending on the nature of the work required and the availability of writers.

At Fortunink, we appreciate being afforded the luxury of time to produce high-quality work. As such, please note that “rush job” requests may be declined due to the limited availability of writers.

We accept cheque or direct bank transfer. Consultations are free. Your downpayment of 50% is only paid upon signing of the contract to employ Fortunink.

We are able to proofread any type of document. Writing, however, requires a greater variety of skills. As such, some subjects are not within our expertise. Please contact us directly to discuss your project.

Yes, content writing is a key service provided by Fortunink, and we have had past clients who are satisfied with the work written/produced such as company bios, description of services, and other marketing copy.

Yes, this is a service provided by Fortunink, and we have had past clients who are satisfied with the work produced.

While past works cannot be shared online due to privacy concerns, we will be happy to provide samples upon request. Kindly note that the client will need to provide as much information as possible about the person for whom the résumé is being produced.

Fortunink surrenders all copyright measures to the client upon final payment. The client is then free to use and distribute the materials as needed.

The client must identify what he/she is not satisfied with, and provide a detailed listing of the changes required. This period for amendments is seven (7) days. All amendments will be done free of charge within these 7 days.

Please note that customer satisfaction is dependent on his/her explicit communication from the onset. We want our clients to be happy and satisfied, and this is greatly aided by their clarity in explaining what they need.
